Membership exemption

In special exceptional cases, you may be exempted from compulsory membership in the pension fund:

  • You are not practicing your medical profession and do not want to pay any contributions.
  • You are a temporary civil servant, revocation or probation or a medical officer as a temporary soldier.
  • You are not a citizen of a member state of the European Union and do not have a medical license.

A written application is required for exemption from membership. The application must be made within six months in order to become valid as of the start of your membership. Otherwise you will get the exemption from the time you of your application filing.

IMPORTANT! A membership waiver cannot be revoked. A coverage through our pension fund is only possible with the establishment of a new compulsory membership – usually by taking up a medical activity. We generally recommend our members to continue their membership by paying their membership fees. Exemption from membership could lead to significant gaps in insurance coverage. Therefore you should opt for this merely in case of adequate alternative possibilities.
