In certain cases, you may opt for continuing your membership in the pension fund on a voluntary basis after your mandatory membership ends:

• You have not become a compulsory member of another pension fund in Germany, yet,
• You want to continue to pay contributions and
• You have not yet reached the standard retirement age.

A written application is required for voluntary continuation of membership. The application must be made within six months after we have informed you of your compulsory membership termination.

Voluntary continued membership ends if you become a compulsory member of a pension fund in Germany. You may cancel your voluntary continued membership by giving four weeks’ notice to the end of the year.
